PAKISTAN, FRIEND OR FOE ? The capture of No. 3 al Qaida terror master Khalid Shaikh Mohammed is quite a coup for the Bush administration and an affirmation of the reliability of Pakistani military dictator Musharraf. Worrisome however is that Mohammed had a safe house in Rawalpindi, the stronghold of Pakistan's military elite and HQ. It is unlikely that al Qaida could operate a network so close to Pakistan's dreaded ISI unnoticed. Does Muhammed's arrest mean that Musharraf now has dislodged the radical Islamists from his intelligence and military services or that his faction merely had the upper hand ?
