Wonder what is going on about the war of words between Teheran and Washington over the use of UAV spy drones ? Check out a post at The Adventures of Chester !

Very interesting! I especially liked the view that Iran OK'd the overflights. Considering how Iran and the US have very similar interests in Iraq, and how huge the Iraq issue is for both nations, the nuclear confrontation does feel a bit "phony."

Hi Dan
Often times we see how ideology trumps national interests but Iran has been a reverse case. The U.S. and Teheran genuinely loathe each other but the confluence of national interests on Afghanistan and Iraq overcame those purist scruples.
Iran badly wants friendly, quiet, neighbors instead of a new Taliban or Baathist regime next door or uncontrolled chaos. Enough so that Iran's real foreign policy and intel professionals eclipse the hardliner ideologues on these issues.
