THE NEW FEEL OF GROUP BLOGGING...
Aside from being honored with requests to guest post by such sterling individuals and uber-bloggers as Bruce Kesler, Austin Bay and Chester, I have pretty much stuck to an individualist course in the blogosphere. I have always liked that Zenpundit represents my particular voice even though there have been many, many, times I've wished for an extra hand to tackle some important topic.
Well, I intend to keep blogging solo here as energetically ( or slothfully, depending on your point of view) as before, but I am now also part of a group blog -or a "blogject" - Discover the Rules, organized and inspired by "Captain" Critt Jarvis to investigate gaming as a platform for connectivity to the wider world. My esteemed fellow crewmembers include Dan of tdaxp, Sean Meade, Larry Dunbar, Shawn in Tokyo and Sokari Ekine, a diverse and talented team that spans generations, continents and hemispheres.
We are still getting our " sea legs" under us but stop by, leave your comments, ask your questions and help us discover the rules ! ¶ 7:25 PM

Group blogs are the way to go, unless you have heroic stamina, or you can make the blogging part of your job. (Barnett fits both categories, for example.) If you work and a family, you are going to have time and energy only some of the time. And if your blogging is an avocation, not closely tied to your work, you are going to get good ideas only some of the time.
I think we will see a continuation of the trend toward group blogs.

Overall, I think you're right.
Ideas are not my problem, I probably have 3 or 4 for every one that becomes a post. I just don't have the times to do the research on them for the reasons which you alluded to.
Group blogs certainly have an edge for prolific quality - Chicago Boyz, Coming anarchy, Volokh etc.
My solution in terms of productivity is usually to cut back on sleep ;o)

Well, keep it up as long as you can. Then, if (when) you get too damn tired to keep it up solo DO NOT STOP -- merge with some like-minded crew.

Hi Dan,
It's actually a "blogject" to put together an IR board game of sorts -Critt has a start-up and this is his way of getting brainstorming going
Unfortunately, the flip side of brainstorming is it is...well...brainstorming and it can look weird. I agree with you on the confusing presentation
( that would be the consensus view BTW).
I am going to attempt to steer things there toward a clearer, gaming-related, focus.
